A quieter alternative to the main viaduct viewpoint. From the southern shore of Loch Shiel you can see the train crossing the viaduct with the loch in the foreground. Less crowded, more atmospheric, particularly stunning in autumn.

🅿️ Parking Instructions

Small layby on the A830 approximately 500m south of the NTS car park. Fits 4–5 cars. Alternatively walk south from the main NTS car park (8 minutes on flat path).

Where to stand:Walk to the water's edge and position the viaduct in the upper third of your frame with the loch filling the foreground. Moving left or right by 20–30 metres dramatically changes the composition.
