A busy station environment. The locomotive arrives from the depot approximately 30 minutes before departure. You can watch it couple to the carriages, take on water, and build up steam. The departure at 10:15 is accompanied by a dramatic whistle and cloud of steam.

Worth visiting if you're already in Fort William and want to see the locomotive up close. Not worth a special journey for photography β the Highland viewpoints are far more dramatic. Excellent for families and those with limited mobility.
